From the supplier: An experiment to determine whether acute-stretching exercise adversely affect maximal strength performance was conducted. Thirty female and male students were asked to perform one-repetition maximum lift (1RM) exercises accompanied by stretching exercises on knee flexors and extensors for two consecutive days. It was discovered that there was a substantial decrease in 1RM performance after an acute stretching exercise. The conclusion was that acute stretching can lower the maximal strength of the knee flexors and extensors.
